We know you hear the cries of those who long for peace and for security. And so today we join our voices with those of the people of Lebanon.
We pray for families of those people who were killedmay they be comforted.
We pray for the childrenmay their fears be calmed. We pray for the womenmay there be food, water and medicine for care for their families.
We pray for the menmay there be safety and protection for their loved ones.
We pray for the militants and others who choose violent ways to call attention to their plightmay they learn the power of nonviolence.
We pray for all Lebanese, that their cries for justice may be heard.
We pray for all leaders to seek diplomatic solution.
We pray that they might end their violence and address the underlying causes of the conflict.
We pray for all Lebanesemay they know and experience true security.
O God, your son Jesus once walked the beautiful and broken land of Lebanon. May his spirit of peace touch the lives of all those who call this land their home today.
